On 17 October 2004, Mumbaikars were treated to the first ever air show jointly put up by Air India and the India Air  Force. The amazing feats were performed to commemorate the golden jubilee of Air Marshal S.Mukherjee assuming charge as the first Indian Chief of Air Staff, and JRD Tata’s pioneering work in the field of aviation. The first ASEAN-India motor car rally ended its 20-day, 8000-km journey on 11 December 2004  at Batam, in Indonesia. 60cars took part in the rally, which passed through Myanmar, Thailand, Loas, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia and Singapore. The rally aimed at promoting trade, investment and tourism between India and Southeast Asia. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who had flagged it off from Guwahati on 23 November 2004, was present seven days letter too cheer it along with other leaders of the ASEAN, at the Laotian capital, Vientiane, where they had met to attend the 10th ASEAN summit. LOVE AT FIRST FLIGHTEUROPEAN aircraft maker Airbus SAS launched production of its A380 ‘super jumbo’, the biggest ever commercial airliner. When it comes into operation in 2006, it will be the largest aircraft in the world.

A 380 is the only twin deck, four aisle airliner in the world. Almost 73 meters long, it is  longer than a football field. It can seat up to 555 passengers in a typical three-class interior layout.It has the widest cabin in the world and a larger and more advanced cockpit layout is more or less the same as other Airbuses, pilots will require very little training to fly it.
